WARRANTY INFORMATION

Frequently asked questions

Here you'll find all the information covering the warranty offered by Farley & Weston.

Your Farley & Weston Warranty

What warranty does Farley & Weston offer?

We are proud of the quality and craftsmanship of our jewellery. All new jewellery purchased from Farley & Weston is covered by a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials or workmanship under normal use.

This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights.

What does the warranty cover?

Our warranty covers manufacturing defects and faults arising from materials or workmanship under normal wear and use.

Examples may include:

  • Manufacturing defects in the jewellery itself
  • Faults in settings caused by workmanship issues
  • Defects in clasps, fittings, or components resulting from manufacturing faults
  • Structural issues arising from the original manufacture of the piece

All claims are assessed individually by our team.

What is not covered by the warranty?

The warranty does not cover:

  • Accidental damage
  • Misuse or neglect
  • Damage caused by impact, knocks, or dropping the item
  • Loss of stones due to accidental damage
  • Damage caused by exposure to chemicals or harsh substances
  • General wear and tear
  • Scratches, dents, or surface marks acquired through normal use
  • Tarnishing or changes in appearance caused by environmental factors
  • Damage resulting from unauthorised repairs, alterations, or modifications carried out by third parties

Jewellery is often worn daily and will naturally show signs of wear over time. These signs are not considered manufacturing defects.

Does the warranty cover lost or stolen jewellery?

No. Unfortunately, the warranty does not cover lost, misplaced, or stolen jewellery.

Does the warranty cover ring resizing carried out elsewhere?

No. Any alterations, repairs, resizing, or modifications carried out by a third party may invalidate the warranty if they contribute to the issue being claimed.

We recommend contacting us before arranging any work through another jeweller.

Are diamonds and gemstones covered?

Manufacturing defects relating to stone settings may be covered under warranty. In the unlikely event that you have an issue or concerns, don't hesitate to get in touch with our team.

However, chipped, cracked, damaged, or lost stones resulting from accidental damage, impact, misuse, or normal wear are not covered.

We recommend periodically checking jewellery for loose stones and having settings professionally inspected if any movement is detected.

Does the warranty cover normal wear and tear?

Unfortunately not. Normal wear and tear is expected with jewellery and is not covered by the warranty.

Examples include:

  • Surface scratches
  • Minor dents
  • Worn plating or finishes
  • General signs of daily use
  • Wear to ring shanks over extended periods

Regular maintenance can help preserve your jewellery's appearance and longevity.

WARRANTY CLAIM – [Your Order Number]

Please include:

  • Your order number
  • Proof of purchase
  • A description of the issue
  • Photographs where possible
  • Any relevant supporting information

Providing clear photographs can often help us assess the issue more efficiently.

Will I need to return my jewellery for inspection?

It is possible, as in some cases, we may request that the item be returned to us for inspection by our workshop team before a warranty decision can be made.

We will provide instructions if a return is required.

How long does the warranty claim process take?

Timeframes vary depending on the nature of the issue and whether the item needs to be inspected.

Our team will keep you informed throughout the process and provide updates wherever possible.

What happens if my claim is approved?

If we determine that the issue is covered under warranty, we will, at our discretion:

  • Repair the item
  • Replace the item with an identical item where available
  • Provide a comparable replacement where appropriate
  • Offer a full refund

Our priority is always to provide a fair and reasonable resolution, but we'll be in constant contact so you'll be aware before, during and following inspection.

What happens if my item cannot be repaired?

If a repair is not possible, we will discuss alternative options with you, which may include a replacement or refund, depending on the circumstances.

Do I need to register my warranty?

No. Your warranty is automatically activated from the date of purchase.

We recommend retaining your order confirmation and proof of purchase for future reference.

Does the warranty apply to bespoke or personalised jewellery?

Yes. Bespoke and personalised jewellery is covered by the same 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects.

However, bespoke and personalised items remain subject to the same exclusions regarding accidental damage, misuse, unauthorised repairs, and normal wear and tear.
